The phenomenon of gender-based violence takes place daily worldwide. "Gender-based violence" refers to violence directed against a person on the basis of their sex, gender, gender characteristics or sexual orientation and includes acts that cause emotional, physical, mental or sexual harm or suffering, threats of such actions, coercion and deprivation of the person's freedom. This is a phenomenon that in the vast majority affects women and LGBTQI+ people.
Many people have an imbalance between their personal and professional lives. One of the most important reasons is the lack of boundaries between these two areas of our lives, as a result of which our engagement with one area is often at the expense of the other.
Over the past 15 years the focus of Organizational Psychology has gradually shifted from the context, which is often unfeasible or unprofitable to change, to the individual, i.e. the employee.
Positive assertiveness and self-confidence are interrelated concepts. One enhances the development of the other. They develop in parallel as both have at their center caring for and developing ourselves.
We cannot control many of the situations that occur in our lives, but we can control how we respond to them. As psychology suggests it is not the event itself that matters, but our perception of it. The interpretation we form about a situation or a person will give rise to certain feelings and behaviors.
Conflicts are part of the daily life. Sometimes they are unavoidable. What we need to do is learn to manage them and have the ability to let them affect us as little as possible. But why do conflicts arise?
Why is it that when we fear something strongly, it ends up happening? Are we & unlucky or do we also play a part in it? Since we don’t believe much in the luck factor, the latter is usually the case. Often, a bad scenario, an unpleasant image or negative characteristic comes to mind so strongly that we end up turning it into a reality through our actions.
